Description: The Executive Director of University Communications and Marketing reports to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement. The Executive Director plays a crucial role in advancing the University’s public image consistent with its mission and strategic directions and serves as the university spokesperson for events of public interest. The position provides administrative direction, supervision and coordination for the university’s overall communication, integrated marketing, promotional and public relations strategies that support academic programs, student recruitment, athletics, advancement and special institutional projects and events. The Executive Director supervises the personnel and heads the Communications and Marketing Division whose responsibilities include designing and updating the university’s website and social media, interacting with the media, managing public relations issues, creating university publications and press releases, developing and designing institutional marketing efforts, and establishing a long-term branding and marketing strategy to ensure the growth and success of the University.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Preference for degrees in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications or closely related fields. A minimum of five years marketing experience with proven success in corporate or higher education branding or product marketing is required.
Demonstrated experience in the creation and production of print and electronic media, as well as developing marketing campaigns, including research, publicity, promotions, materials production etc. is required. Experience in the oversight of licensing of university trademarks is preferred. Strong interpersonal and human relations skills along with effective resource management skills and proficiency in written and oral communications are essential.

Business and Economic Development Director

Description: The School of Business and Economics is committed to fulfilling its role as an economic development resource to the community/region. We are currently seeking a visionary director to lead economic development efforts and manage a business incubator.
This position is responsible for management of an existing business incubator. Our leadership would like this facility to be sustainable and to expand the scope of its services to businesses. This person will report to the Dean of the School of Business as well as the board of the FSU Development Corporation. He/she will be working with the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBDTC), the North Carolina Institute for Minority Economic Development (NCIMED), and the University to better develop the incubator as a resource to this community. In addition, the person will need to have or develop a connection to the Murchison Road Corridor community, as the FSUDC and the University has identified this area as a priority for community engagement resources.
